In my previous post, I talked about twin flames as a soul contract. Now I want to dive a little bit deeper into what the connection actually is.
Who are the twins, and what actually happens to them?
One of the 12 Laws of the Universe is The Law of Gender: everything in nature contains both feminine and masculine energies. That includes us, humans. Genders aside, we all have feminine and masculine energies circulating within our bodies – us being energetic beings, not just physical. And as everything in nature, these energies and opposite polarities should be in balance – feminine energy creates life, masculine sustains it. If these energies are in balance, regardless of what form they take or the environment, they create lifeforce that is harmonious, stable, and abundant.
So, when it comes to the twin flame dynamic, we are actually talking about these polarities: the feminine and the masculine. The connection is a manifestation of these energies, taking the form of a soul connection, with the main goal of soul ascension and individuation. Two separate consciousnesses, one soul – two different polarities, but one energetic system. Your twin is your own opposing polarity in a human body that comes into your life when your soul is ready to awaken and ascend. You still carry both energies within you, you are complete and whole just as you are, but your twin is the physical manifestation of the polarity that you didn't fully integrate yet. Most often, the journey happens to the feminine polarity: they meet their masculine in human form and the reunion (the one soul coming into physical contact) activates the journey.
So, as the feminine meets their twin, the masculine, the journey of the soul activates; and as the energies intensify and collide, within the body and outside the physical body, the clearing process begins as well. The clearing of the low vibrational frequencies such as, century-old wounds from previous lifetimes and the current one, traumas, negative beliefs, all the subconscious buried material and fear – all the low vibrations that tend to build up and settle in the lower chakras that are more of the masculine polarity and the driving forces of our 3D reality (root, sacral, solar plexus). This clearing takes the form of countless ego deaths and longer dark nights of the soul. And it takes time, as most healing processes do. The feminine starts to heal from the inside out, mentally, spiritually, physically – old pain resurfaces, grief from past wounds comes up, everything that doesn't benefit the soul, the body will have to release it. This is the longest and most painful part of the journey. The grief that you feel is for your own self that has to die over and over, until the new, the real you can be born.
Your twin doesn't have to be physically there to trigger you and your wounds, often twins separate early on, but other times the connection keeps them together, depending on the soul contract. The connection doesn't change, your souls are one and the same, the love that awakens within you both could never fade – the one thing that changes is you. You release the old you, the old ego you thought you were, the old persona you showed to the world, and your soul can ascend to finally be your highest self – one that is still not perfect, not "fully" healed and completely detached of the 3D reality, that still has things to work on because that's something that doesn't stop till the day we die; but is whole and complete in a new way. Whole within and without, as in, you stop operating from lack like you used to, because you fully healed your inner feminine energy, and balanced it out with your inner masculine.
What does this actually mean again?
Your twin, the masculine you meet, is the opposing polarity in human form, the physical manifestation of your inner masculine energy. That's why they "seem" familiar, that's why it feels like you've known them forever, that's why you know them and they know you. That's why they can trigger you and your deepest wounds with a single look or word. They are the projection of all the masculine attributes you didn't discover, recognise, and integrate yet. Your soul decided to take the human form of a person you would be attracted to, bring them into your life when the time is ready, so you can meet yourself in another body, and recognise the work you need to do. They show you who you are, just by being. Your soul knows what needs to be done, on a level that the mind and ego could never comprehend.
As the feminine heals, she discovers, accepts, and starts working with her dormant masculine energy; her inner energies start to balance out and the integration and inner union happens. Her creative lifeforce is activated, and her inner masculine ensures that this energy has a place to land (manifests as action in the 3D) and is sustained. After inner union has completed, her physical masculine can come into union with her as well; that can only happen once the integration and individuation is fully finished.
As the feminine ascends and heals, so does the masculine, but they experience the journey differently, in a less spiritual way. They go through changes and collapses, their life reconstructs too, but more without (in the 3D) than within, as the feminine's does. For the masculine twin, they need to integrate their inner feminine, meaning healing their emotional, intuitive sides. The dynamic can manifest in many different ways, but most often the masculines tend to run from the intensity of this love connection, but as time goes by and both twins heal, they accept their feelings (integrate their feminine energies) and stop running from their counterparts.
So, the twin flame connection is a weird manifestation of opposing energies. The dance of feminine and masculine energies, shaped and materialised as humans; one soul that decided to reincarnate into two separate bodies so once reunited, the "two" can become one again. You meet your twin so you can see yourself the way you never did, and never could have done without them. The mirror they hold up is brutally accurate because that reflection is the real you. Imperfect, wounded, full of fear and shame – but loveable, more than anything. That's the whole point: if you can love your imperfect twin so much, you can do just the same with your own self. It's a journey of self-love, more than anything.
