Just to recall: what we call soul contracts are the connections you encounter and make as a human; I'm talking about the significant ones, who leave a mark in you. A soul contract is an agreement between two souls to reunite: to meet in this lifetime and teach each other something. These meetings are not fleeting, and not coincidental. These souls come into your life for a reason. And that reason is your task to figure out. All soul contracts have the same purpose: the mission is your soul-evolution and, in some cases, awakening.
So let's talk about twin flames.
This is the rarest soul contract out of the three. Twin flames are a mix of the karmic and the soulmate connections: your counterpart comes into your life and doesn't just trigger you to clear karma and your wounds, they reinforce your healing by awakening you. The twin flame connection is what we call "one soul reincarnated in two separate bodies" – two different polarities, but one soul. Twin flames are the most transformational out of the three, because the main purpose of this contract is the ascension of the soul. Your twin works as a catalyst and from the moment soul recognition happens, the activation starts and doesn't stop until your evolution is complete. These connections always trigger a spiritual and kundalini awakening.
So how do twin flame connections work?
Before meeting your twin flame, you most likely already experienced at least one triggering karmic connection, and oftentimes, these karmics were a catalyst to your awakening. But that awakening is just the beginning, it's minor, compared to an actual twin flame awakening. Once you come into physical contact with your twin, activation (soul recognition) happens, and your kundalini awakens – and starts clearing your chakra points, your traumas, wounds, and old beliefs, while the ego starts to crumble and almost completely die. This happens in every twin flame activation, no exception. Your ego will have to die, so your soul can awaken to its true self and purpose. This is the whole point of the connection.
The process is different in every connection – some twins are romantic relationships, some are not, but that won't affect the activation. It will happen, and doesn't end. It's a journey, that will always be part of your life, but as time passes, it will change a lot, depending on the speed of your healing. But in general, it always takes at least a few years until the soul ascends to a point where it is completely separate from the now-healthy ego, and is the one leading you and your new life. Your life will change, because your old identity will fall and die: you will lose people, family members, friends, partners, your old career, ties to the 3D world, everything that was built on false ego, and you, as a person, will be reborn. The ego will die over and over, and it is a very painful process, full of grief and sorrow.
This is the main process of the twin flame journey. But of course we have to talk about the version that most people heard about: you will meet your other half. Technically it's true, but not exactly: because the main point is that you will learn and recognise that you have been complete and whole, from the very beginning. You don't need anyone to complete you, or your life, and you will learn that on the journey. But it's a soul recognition, and it's unlike anything else. It's the most magnetic, intense, confusing and triggering connection you can experience in your life. You meet your "other half," your perfect mirror, your person. You will feel from the beginning that they are not just anyone, they are different. But in reality, you are meeting yourself in another person, that's what you recognise. Your own soul. And that's why you will see your whole self reflected back: the good and the bad equally. You meet your twin so they can show you who you are, and who you aren't. They will trigger you so you can heal, and let go of the old version of you that was never real.
Twin flame connections are the most overly romanticised soul contracts out there, due to getting increasingly popular recently, but there is a lot of toxicity attached to it by now, a lot of misinformation spreading around about it. It is not necessarily romantic, in any way. The purpose is awakening and transformation, not just romance. It is the rarest of soul contracts out there, probably less than 1% of the population has a twin flame. If you meet your twin flame in this lifetime, it is to help you accelerate your soul ascension in the form of a very rapid awakening.
