Soul contracts - Karmics

You came here for a reason: to learn your lessons and love yourself.

Because if you accept and learn to love each and every part of you, even the parts you reject, you won’t have to search for it in others.

Just to recall: what we call soul contracts are the connections you encounter and make as a human; I'm talking about the significant ones, who leave a mark in you. A soul contract is an agreement between two souls to reunite: to meet in this lifetime and teach each other something. These meetings are not fleeting, and not coincidental. These souls come into your life for a reason. And that reason is your task to figure out. All soul contracts have the same purpose: the mission is your soul-evolution and, in some cases, awakening.

Karmic contracts are the most common ones you can encounter. A karmic will come into your life to teach you a lesson, or two, and oftentimes these are the ones who move on just as fast as they came. Their purpose is to enter your life and help you see a pattern, a habit, a negative cycle; help you recognise something about your life that needs to change. Imagine someone holding up a mirror and showing you "this is who you actually are." That reflection is not always sweet. The lesson you learn by the end can be hurtful, but it's always for your own good. They may appear to help you clear karma from a previous lifetime: and once the karma is cleared, they move on.

How to know you've met a karmic

Most love connections and relationships belong in this category, funny enough, because while most people think an intense relationship that starts with heavy chemistry is a sign of life-long love, it's most often the exact opposite.

The chemistry is nothing else but a sign of mirroring – mirroring of the subconscious in each other. Carl Jung called it anima and animus – the anima is the unconscious feminine side within men, and the animus is the unconscious masculine side within women. And certain encounters will feel intense because your subconscious, most specifically the repressed part (the anima and animus), recognises itself in the other person's subconscious. To make it easier to understand: if you're a woman, your nervous system will recognise your animus in the man you encounter, and that's why they will seem almost familiar, that's why you will feel attraction towards them: you're technically attracted to your own repressed masculine energy, that is within you.

So meeting a karmic will often feel like it was "meant to be," will often feel a strong pull toward that person, intense chemistry that can quickly turn into a relationship. But it can turn just as fast into something difficult to manage, hard to handle, argumentative, even toxic, because the purpose of the connection was never "true love and romance" – it was learning lessons through mirroring, recognising negative behaviours and patterns, and destructive cycles. These themes will without a doubt come to the surface over time. What you repress and reject in yourself, but try to love in someone else, will trigger your nervous system and over time, will result in push and pull behaviour, confusion, self-doubt, and countless toxic patterns in the relationship.

So what's the purpose of the karmic

The main purpose of every soul contract is soul evolution: you didn't just come to Earth to have fun; you came here to clear accumulated karma and ascend over several lifetimes. Karmic relationships are the most common for that reason: they will show you what you came here to learn. Repeating cycles, that keep happening in your relationships, that after some time you just can't unsee and sweep under the rug: they keep happening for a reason. And it's your responsibility to notice and change, for your own good, and for others' as well. Because breaking old cycles and clearing karma benefits everyone, not just one person, but the collective. And at the bottom of all this is one thing, that should be the number one priority in this, and every lifetime: self-love. Accept all and every part of you, even the parts you reject, so you won’t have to search for it in others. You won’t need another person to “complete” you, because you already are.

So the next time you meet someone and it feels like they came into your life for a reason, but shortly after it starts to feel triggering in many ways, that is your karmic. There are patterns to notice and cycles to break. And at the end of that learning curve, you will be rewarded with a healthier life and relationships in general. The lessons won't ever end, but they will get easier over time.
