Let’s talk about soul contracts.
What we call soul contracts are really just the connections you encounter and make as a human. Not the people you pass by on the streets, not the ones you meet for a few hours and forget them right after; I’m talking about the significant ones, who leave a mark in you. A soul contract is an agreement between two souls to reunite: to meet in this lifetime and teach each other something. These meetings are not fleeting, and not coincidental. These souls come into your life for a reason. And that reason is your task to figure out. All soul contacts have the same purpose: the mission is your soul-evolution and in some cases, awakening.
What type of soul contracts exist?
Karmics.
These are the most common ones you can encounter. A karmic will come into your life to teach you a lesson, or two, and oftentimes these are the ones who move one. Their purpose is to enter your life and help you see a pattern, a habit, a negative cycle; help you recognise something about your life that needs to change. Imagine someone holding up a mirror and showing you “this is who you actually are”. That reflection is not always cute. The lesson you learn by the end can be hurtful, but it’s always for your own good. They may appear to help you clear karma from a previous lifetime: and once the karma is cleared, they move on.
Soulmates.
The second most common ones. Everybody has heard about soulmates, and for a good reason, wants their romantic partner to be their soulmate. These are the souls who enter your life and bring along the comfort, affection, support, and peace most people crave. While they are most known for being romantic partners, soulmates can be platonic too: family members, friends, pets, people you encounter and just click from the beginning. You have known each other in previous lifetimes and agree to meet in this as well; that’s why it can feel like no time passed between your last conversation. Because technically you never even separated. The connection doesn’t fade; the bond is eternal. They enter your life to support your growth and healing, bringing safety and stability.
Twin flames.
This is the rarest soul contract out of the three. Twin flames are a mix of the karmic and the soulmate connections: your counterpart comes into your life and doesn’t just trigger you to clear karma and your wounds, they reinforce your healing by awakening you. The twin flame connections are what we call “one soul reincarnated in two separate bodies” – two different polarities, but one soul. Twin flames are the most transformational out of the three, because the main purpose of this contract is the ascension of the soul. Your twin works as a catalyst and from the moment soul recognition happens, the activation starts and doesn’t sop until your evolution is complete. These connections always trigger a spiritual and kundalini awakening. While twin flames are known for being called romantic, it is not entirely true: they are transformational.
At the end of the day, all soul contracts serve the same purpose: these souls, these people come into your life to remind you who you really are and help you remember your true self. Who you are at a soul level – not your ego, not your persona, but you as a soul.
